WHY FOREST SCHOOL?

BETTER BRAINS

Although America has been pushing academics at an early age, studies show that academics are only a small portion of healthy development. Social and emotional development in childhood are the biggest predictor of success in adulthood. Forest school helps develop both academic and social/emotional strengths.

HEALTHIER BODIES

Time spent in nature is proven to increase healthy immune functions, reduce obesity, improve self-confidence, and reduce symptoms of ADHD, anxiety and depression. All these factors directly impact a child's ability to learn. When children have a healthier learning environment, their overall health improves, too.

THRIVING DEVELOPMENT

Because children have significantly more neuroplasticity during childhood, it is important that they are exposed to a large variety of new concepts and challenges. Nature is the richest learning environment in existence with constantly changing biological factors that children can explore, tinker with, and experience during forest school.
