Art in the Wild

Practice your favorite subject and learn new techniques this summer at our "Art in the Wild" summer camps! Our 2-day drop-off art camps are for ages 7-14 on select Thursdays and Fridays from 3-5pm this summer. Younger students can get crafty with us at our family workshops offered once monthly through August on Wednesdays from 1-3pm. Entire families are invited to participate in the workshop together. Recommended for children ages 3+ and their families.

This summer, get in touch with your creative side. Relax in nature and let your inner artist shine! Our 2-day camp offered on Th/F from 3-5pm includes supplies for $110 per camper. Each week of camp features a new art project to tackle. Groups of 10 children ages 7-14 will be guided through new art techniques as they hone creative expression and teamwork with a professional art instructor.

Join us this summer for family art workshops. Each family pays a flat fee of $70 to participate, no matter family size! Children of all ages will learn new art techniques together during our 2-hour workshop. An adult is required to stay at family art workshops. Recommended for children ages 3+. New workshop topic offered each month of the summer.

What happens to teachers when the school year ends? They miss teaching and look for creative ways continue doing what they love. We're so excited to partner with local art teacher, Mark Fiske, as he shares his passion for art and nature with us at forest school! Mark has been teaching High School art for 15 years. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Art Education from Olivet Nazarene University, as well as a Master of Arts in Art from Governors State University where he studied drawing and painting. He lives in Homer Glen with his wife Erin and their two children Frances and Oliver. This summer, Mark has designed an amazing outdoor art program specifically for Free Haven Forest School.
